One morning in early 2008 Adam, one of our founders was driving to work and listening to Elvis Duran and The Morning Zoo on Z100 in New York. When he tuned in, Elvis was reading a list of what physical attributes in men that women notice on a first date. One of the top selections women made was the type of shoes the men were wearing. Carolina Bermudez confirmed that she does in fact notice a man's shoes and takes his style choice into account in deciding on another date.

Adam was very surprised to hear that a man's shoes could have such an impact on whether woman would consider forming a relationship. He thought back to his single days and quickly decided that he wouldn't have known where to start in selecting shoes for a first date, and couldn't think of too many women in his life that would have been able to give him appropriate fashion advice.

As he continued to listen to the Zoo's cast discuss this list, an idea came to him - What if you could post a picture of a "first-date outfit" on a web site and let the public decide if the shoes, or the hair, or the outfit were trendy? What if you could post six or seven different pictures of yourself in different outfit choices and see which one people liked the best?

Adam proposed the idea to his current business partner Ben, who thought it was a great concept. The pair formed a company and worked at nights and on weekends to bring the vision to fruition.
